I am incubating several types of eggs. I have one set in the mix that is on day 12 that has literally had 6 out of 18 smelly eggs. It started by day 4 when I found the first "stinker". Now, I am still finding bad eggs. I know it is not my incubator as I have several other types of eggs in with these and am having no problems with rotten eggs outside of this breed. What could be causing this and at what point does it seem like maybe it was the seller's fault? I'm not going to stir up trouble with the seller, just won't use them again. Also, these are not shipped eggs, they are from a local pick-up and I've known this person a while but never actually used their eggs.... very frustrating.

UGG that doesnt sound good! Maybe the eggs were older? if they were washed that can introduce bacteria? So sorry to hear you had so many stinkers!

Maybe they washed the eggs or something?? If they are all from the same person, I would think it's a problem with their handling of the eggs.

Thanks, guys.

I agree and think that the handling of these eggs before I got them was not correct. I've had 100% hatches out of this particular incubator, and my thermometer/hygrometer shows the last 24 hour history so I know that there have been no temp spikes...
