How many Silkie Eggs Can an Orpington Set?

I just lost my last splash silkie.

I had 3. One went MIA, an owl got my rooster, and my LGD puppy in training was caught chomping on my last one Friday evening. I have a broody Orpington I was going to try and break but decided to let her set some b/b/s silkie eggs instead. How many do you think I could get under her. Also, this is her first time going broody she is about 8 months old.

I have a Speckled Sussex, which is about the same size as the Orp....Pretty Girl sits on 8 Silkie eggs at a time, and hatches well.

First time broodies do sometimes have problems.....lack of experience

sorry about the silkies, I would give her a dozen, I'm sure she could sit on more but she would go crazy trying to take care of 30 baby silkies.

I have my eye on two auctions. One for 6+ and one for 12+. I was thinking I'd just put the extras in my incubator. My bf is going to kill me. I just told him I was done hatching until next spring!
