I have about 95 (or a few less) chicks that I want to have out in chicken tractors this year. I plan on moving tractors daily and will suppliment with feed as needed. They will be dual purpose birds. If I made 7 foot long tractors by 5 feet wide, how many tractors would I need to have 75% of them out at any given time. I figured I would leave a few in my run area for breeding purposes.

So at any given time, maybe 70 birds that I would be moving around on the grass. (argh I wish I could sell a few.. I think its going to be a burden to have so many)

You'll need around 8 tractors to have 75% out at a time, if each tractor is 7x5 feet. That 35 square feet. So you could fit 9 hens in each tractor.

It will also depend on what will be in the tractor. Mine is 4x8 but includes a roost, nesting boxes and s small feeder and waterer. 3-4 hens are comfortable in it.
