What didn’t work? What style did you try? So many choices bc so many coop configurations and weather considerations.
we went with the Harris Farms 7lb feeder (very common style) bc we wanted to spend little $, and have a simple feeder easily replaced, that we did not have to make, and that reduced bill-out. It worked way better than expected. We have very little bill out when we hang it so the feed tray is at the level of their back. Bill out wasn’t too bad when we placed this same feeder on blocks...taller birds would eat out of the top actually! But better to hang. We placed some extra pavers under the feeder so any pellets would be obvious as some birds or lower ranking ones will eat them off the ground.
If you have a small coop/run, you may need to just place a wind/rain block behind where you place your feeder so it stays dry. But, many feeder options.
