How many ?

Hey ! Just built a coop that has about 22 sq. Ft.of space.....4 ft. High to peak of roof . Also have 5 nesting boxes. How many bantam chicks can get along comfortably in this many square feet? I want to get 8 to 10 but not sure if this is too many. New to this . Thanks in advance for your time!!!

So it's about 4x5? My math stinks. I would go no more than 6-7. How big is the run?

The run is 45 sq.ft. Half under the coop(2 ft tall) and other half 6 ft tall

6-7 birds, since they are smaller

Each bird should have 4sq ft. Of coop and 10sqft of run if not free ranging.

I thought that the 4 sq ft coop and 10 sq ft was for the larger fowl. Is that not so? That's what I planned for my chickens that aren't bantam sized.

Well 4-5 full size birds, 6-7 bantam would be about right.

Not here! My bantams do better with more space, so four sq. ft. per bird works well for them. There will be times when they need to be locked in for weeks, and space is needed!

Might depend on your climate and predator load.....and how predator proof your run is.
