How may lady’s can one rooster have?

Just wondering, I have always had 2 silkie roosters, but one of them just past away 2 days ago.
now I have just one rooster with 12 hens, is that okey, can he ferile all the eggs alone or should I get another rooster ? .

You can crack open eggs to see how many are fertile. Some people say 5, some say 20.
