I was In Rural King yesterday, and trolled through the chick section. They had Cornish Cross for $1.39!

I don't have my Whizbang together yet, but if they had not been sold out, I would have bought some!

I get mine from a hatchery that is just the next town over, for $1.25. I've seen them for less from online hatcheries, but I like being able to buy from a local, family owned hatchery, and not have to worry about shipping.

Orscheln's ad has them listed for $1.57, minimum of 25. What they list as pan fry chicks are 99-cents., minimum of 25.

What a difference. I just paid 2.50 a bird for 5 day olds at the cheapest place I could find here in Phoenix. Most of the other places wanted 2.75. Thats what you pay if you don't bring them (25 or more) in from the hatcheries. But when I only need 10 at a time that's the price I pay.

.90 a chick for st run 100 at a time. The local hatchery is close to work so they drop they off for me.
super quality - and like other said local is were it is at.

$0.90 each straight run from Schlecht Hatchery in Miles, IA. Best Cornish Rocks you will ever raise. NO leg problems and do excellent on either free range or confined. Out of the 15+ hatcheries I have tried in the past years no one comes close to Schlecht.

For small amounts the stores are the way to go for price. You could do better on large amounts direct from Townline Hatchery. We service all Rural King stores.
