How much are you paying for soy free non-GMO?

I'm considering switching to an organic soy free non GMO feed, once all my girls are laying, that I can get from a local farm. It's Countryside Organics and They are charging $39 for a 50lb bag. I'm just wondering if this is a typical price or if it's a little high? Right now I'm feeding purina flock raiser at about $19 for 50lb. I don't like the cost but we avoid soy for ourselves and there are studies that show soy ends up in the eggs. A lot to think about!

I buy from a local farmer and pay $35/80lbs of 19% or $31/80lbs. of 16% layer. That works out to $21.88/50lbs for the 19% or $19.38/50lbs. for the 16% layer. This is transitional organic. You can get his certified organic layer, but you have to buy a half ton & I think it's $37/80lbs. for the layer. I can get 50 lbs. of Organic Unlimited's no soy pellets for $30.50/50. The problem with Countryside is the high cost of shipping. Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone! So, lloks like it's pretty average. I'm going to continue looking around. A bag of feed seems to be lasting about 2 months right now so if that continues to be the case then it wouldn't be so bad. I'm still looking into growing fodder too wich would extend it even further. A lot to think about!

I just bought Countryside Organics for my girls. It was $36 for a 50lb bag. Pricey but worth it to me. I am still going to look around but I will say they LOVE it. They never seemed excited about their feed until I switched to this stuff.

I order organic produce and natural foods for my human family from Azure Standard:) They offer Rogue non soy/non GMO layer pellets for $25.15/50 pounds. I love this company! We live in a rural area where so many items aren't available. I hope this helps some of you out! They offer a few different feeds.

I have heard so many great things about Azure Standard but sadly they do not deliver anywhere close to me (GA), hopefully they will at some point though!! We live in a rural area too and it's hard to find good organic stuff at a decent price.
