How much calcium to give egg bound duck?

I ordered Calcium Gluconate through Amazon. Sure hope your girl lays soon. She isn’t drinking on her own?

Thanks! Hoping I can find some calcium gluconate from a source within the EU due to the insane shipping an import charges. I will try amazon.de. :)

She is drinking, but I was advised to tube her some extra fluids. I just lack access to the tubes to do that, but working on locating and ordering them from maybe the UK so I'm prepared next time.

I was able to find a soft, flexible tube I could use for tubing until I get a real, proper catheter. You guys think this would be ok to use to tube her some extra fliuds? I would cut off the wierd devices on the ends of course. (This is meant to suck snot out of baby noses. How gross, haha!) But this is by far the best tube option I've been able to find anywhere. Is it ok that it doesn't have like a solid rounded end to the tube with hole on the side like catheters do? Any reason a tube like this shouldn't be used?

Yes, I think that will work great! It looks to be very soft and flexible. Just make sure that the end that will be going down isn't sharp or hard on the very end. You might want to try to bevel (taper) the end a bit if you can so that it doesn't cut or irritate the passageway.

That will be fine, just melt he end that gets inserted a little because unmelted it might be too sharp.

Ok, she's not improving and looking quite uncomfortable right now, so I've just made an emergency appointment with the vet for first thing tomorrow morning (it is evening here). Last visit was over $300 and this one will be more since she's on the emergency list without an actual appointment, but she's one of my children so what ya gonna do, right? <3

Thanks sooooo much for the help everyone! I will update after her appointment. Still going to order tubes and syringes so I can actually do more to help right away next time something happens with one of my girls.

Update: What a crazy, long, and stressful day! Poor Pepper's egg had broken inside her on the end farthest in. They had to collapse the egg to remove it. She is finally home now, but her condition is "guarded". She on antibiotics (Baytril) and a pain/anti-inflammatory (Metacam). I'll be keeping a super close eye on her and if she isn't looking better by morning I am to bring her back in (our avian vet was not in today, but she will be back tomorrow. Another vet with some bird experience was able to help us today, though).
