How Much Do Chickens Really Eat?

My 3 chooks are eating 20kg in a little over 1 week ..i am not sure how much the wild birds are getting .. my chickens will also eat most scraps and the cat food as well. They are eatting more in winter and ate not much in summer.

I have a 2 week old chick eating sun up to sun down. After a couple hours it looks like she has swelled half her size. (Not quite that big but pretty big.) But by morning it's flat again. Is this normal for her to eat so much?

Chicks eat until their crop looks like it will explode! Then they poop it out just as fast! They are eating and growing at an amazing rate. If a human grew as fast as some chicks, we would weigh 350 pounds at age 2. So, yes, normal.
