How much do standard cochins eat a month?

I've never had standard Cochins (and my bantam Cochin don't count

I've had large standards and think that how much feed they eat has a lot to do with temperature. They sure can eat in cold weather

My hens are out in freezing temperatures all day lately and at night, in an insulated coop, it isn't much above freezing. Each hen is probably eating just short of one-half pound of food every day.

Back around the first of December when it wasn't quite as cold and I was just starting to weigh their feed, they weren't eating this much. And, on those subzero days and nights - they were eating more!!

So, one-third pound of feed a day is probably about standard for, uh, standards during warmer months. Without foraging and treats, your Cochins will probably eat a little more. I'd say about 12 pounds of feed each over a month.
