how much do you charge for your eggs?

On the raw milk statement. I have to argue with illegal to have a cowshare comment. There are quit a few up and operating in Utah.

We run a cowshare here and regularly correspond with others across Canada and the US on this subject.

My hens are young and just recently started laying (not all of them are laying yet) from 20 hens, i'm only getting 11-14 eggs a day.
Since they lay brown eggs, but they are still only med to small with the occasional large, what should I charge for them??? I priced large brown eggs at the store last night, and they are $2.99 to $4.50 a doz. They have regular, cage free and organic.

We went from $1.00 a doz. to $2.00 a doz. and all of our customers are fine with that price. They are over 2.00 a doz for white in the supermarket. At least this will help cover the price of feed.

Well my prices went up with feed costs and grocery store egg costs. My official price is $2.50/doz, but one neighbor insists on paying $3/doz for hers anyway. I know mine are worth even more if I compare to what they're paying in the store for cage free brown eggs, but just because retail wants to hold people over a barrel doesn't mean I have to do that to my neighbors, is my reasoning for not going higher on my prices. Organic brown eggs here are about $4.50/doz. Regular old anemic yolked white eggs, the very cheapest are $2/doz at the moment.

i sell mine for $2.00 a doz, but since feed had doubled in price in the last couple months they are going to probably $2.50, if i have to i have enough family around they can eat more egg's Newnanchick, we used to live there, didn't know any one had chickens tho. great place to live.

I sell mine for $4.00 a dozen. I do live by a very "organic" city. Some people do ask me if they are fertilized...they do not want to kill an unborn baby. SOOO I removed the roosters just to make everyone happy. Then moved them back in for the winter. The hen flock is getting older, they did not lay much over the winter. Who knows if I will have enough eggs to sell come spring/summer.

I just sold my first last week and was happily given $3.00 since they are over $3 for large eggs here.

The freshness thing gets them.

I bumped mine up to $2.50...$2.00 if you bring your own cartons.

Eggs at the grocery store are going for about $1.99/dozen and "cage free" are going for almost $3.00.

I have 3 regular customers, 1 gets 4 dozen a week...1 gets 2 dozen every other week and the other gets 3 dozen every week to every other week. That's usually about $52 a month....FEED COST COVERED!!!!!!
