how much do you charge for your eggs?

I'm really glad this thread was started. I'm rural too. My cousin and his wife live in a larger town, but not quite in the city either. She sells hers for $2/dozen right now. My girls aren't laying yet... looking forward to October! I won't have much competition, but I was thinking $1.75 - $2 depending on how well they lay. Also, since my garden didn't come close to producing the way it did last year, I was also thinking about trading eggs for veggies with the neighbors whose gardens did do well. (I miss my squash and okra the most!)

My DIL in Humble, TX. pays 4.50 per dozen at the farmers market! I plan on starting at $4 when I have some excess. She already has 6 customers lined up for us.

2.75 without carton to trade

2.50 with trade in...

They run 3.00 to 3.99 in grocery store and around 4.00 a doz or so in the feed or organic stores in my area last I looked....

I'm very lucky as I'm getting 4$ a doz at my MIL store...Otherwise Id be selling them as fertile hatching eggs in the Fall-almost too hot to ship anywhere:(

the standard price here at the local farmer's market is $4.50/dozen, which I think is crazy. and now that I have my own, i think it's even crazier. actually shameful. i charge $2.50/dozen at work for my eggs

I sell mine for $2.00/dozen. I was thinking of selling mine at the farmer's market, but they gave this whole spill out having them refrigerated and all this crap, when in fact they don't have to be cold, cold just kept in the shade--not like I'm going to be out there for hours on end. Do you know any truth about that?

I sell eggs to my coworkers for $3.50 for a dozen or $5 for an 18 pack and they are happy to pay that price for fresh eggs. We alive in Alaska so you never know how old the eggs are by the time they reach the store shelves here and they love that they are buying purely organic eggs that are so fresh.

I get $2.00 per dozen here and i am out in the pretty rural area of Ohio. I have a sign at the end of the driveway and I can not keep eggs in my fridge. I have been told that my eggs are the best in the county. I tell them "that's because my girls eat better than I do!"
