How much do you pay for feed??

Pics
Well today I bought nutrena feather fixer, is was $23.99 instead of $26.99 so $3 difference. It is 18% and I like the ingredients and feed better. It's a pellet so less waste. Seems better all round and the chickens like it.

I have been paying $26.99 for flock raiser at TSC and they eat so much feed it gets expensive. Is this alot for feed? How much do you pay?
TIA!
I buy from a local feed mill and pay about $15 for a 50# bag. I love this feed mill...all of the grain is from the local farmers and my chickens love the feed!

I get a 50# bag from the fed store of grower right now for $18. I also ferment all of their feed so it lasts. I have 4 12 wk olds and 4 5 wk olds. I was doing a 20# bag auto shipped from Chewy for $25

Right now, our cheapest available feed is over $30 for 50 lb. On the outer islands it costs a little more. There is no local feed mill and no locally-produced grain (except seed corn) so everything has to come over on a boat. The bags are labeled as being manufactured by Purina-associated mills in Minnesota so it's a cross-country truck ride just to get to the ship. It's more cost effective to ship processed and frozen chicken than the feed it takes to grow them.

That's so cheap. Layer feed is cheaper around here but my rooster......my rooster!!

Same here.

My rooster and my young pullets.

Alas, all these commercial chicken houses around here and no local mills that sell to the public. :(
