It's not good for him. I think ideally it should be under 1.5 or 2%

You could probably finish it. I've had males do just fine on layer feed for nearly a decade, but that was before I knew how bad it could be if they had a lower tolerance. Some of my males that live with females eat a half and half mix if the two feeds, but I would recommend nit continuing to feed him layer feed after this bag if possible

I don't mess with added calcium, just the oster shell. But as Jacin stated it should be fine to finish the bag. It's not a big deal if you're raising them to harvest for meat at weight, but long term probably not good.

Mine went up to 500 a ton. I buy it by the barrel (300 pounds or so)

BTW, look at the label, it's not '3.whatever % calcium', it's a minimum of that %! So when it's a stated minimum, or maximum %, that's exactly what it means.
Could be more, or less, than the stated amount.
