How much do you sell eggs for?

Quote:
some people 'view' tinted or colored eggs as 'better/prettier" you name it. it's just one of those things that get into peoples heads. colored eggs often fetch a better price.

they all taste good to me!

Thank you everyone. I was just planning on selling the extras to co-workers and if I still have more selling them to neighbors. My thought was $2.00 for large eggs and form what you have said it sounds like a good price. Any of the smaller once I will sell for less.
Thanks again.

That will work. So long as they are not to small. Then I would just feel bad for poning off a small egg on a friend.

I eat my bantam eggs first. Also any cracked or not so pretty egg goes in the eat first carton! The "perfect" ones go in the sell carton. That way if hubby needs to grab a carton or 2 fror the office gals, they are ready to go.

I'll be selling my eggs at the gas station where I work (the store is owned by my in-laws). Our large commercial eggs are 2.89 a dozen right now. I live on an island so you have to consider freight charges. I have asked around and others on the island sell their farm fresh eggs for 3 dollars/doz. I'm considering 3.25 as I have to purchase new cartons for to sell them at the store.

We go through almost 2 bags of feed per month. My feed cost is about $14 per bag plus an additional $4 per bag freight. I just got three bags yesterday, there was also an additional $1.80 fuel surcharge, bringing my freight to $13.80 for 3 50lb bags.

i get: $2:50 for med, $3.50 for large, $3.75 for extra large, and $4.00 for JUMBO and a whopping $5 for super jumbo. most people order XL and jumbo... i get organic feed here for $10 and i sell 5 doz/week of XL and jumbo (mostly) and all my chickens eat a 50lb bag of feed a month so it all pays off VERY well.
mostly dark brown eggs, some are a whiteish-brown with black speckles and the jumbos are mostly like that.
wht i dont understand is why so many people buy my eggs at my price when many people here sell their own eggs(no matter wht size) for less then $2 a doz.
