How much do you sell you hens for?

Here I can get pullets 2.00-4.00...I got my flock of 1 roo and 17 hens for free. I can get a bag of layer pellets 75 lb bag for I paid 9.50 for it. cracked corn cost the same for 75 lb bag, and a 50lb of grit is 3.50.

WOW!!!!! $35!! Here, good layers sell for $4-5 tops. But I have seen 20 laying pullets, RIR, Rocks, etc. for $1 each! I would have bought them but I already have too many chickens. I am dieing trying to get rid of my 20+ silkies and turkens, and I have about 25 eggs in the bator. I am asking $5 each. $10 for a really good female. And I feel really bad asking that much. And some of these are 2 months old, purebred. And I can hardly sell them. We just got 20 boxes yesterday, so hopefully I can ship some. Anyone want some? I am begging you! There are silkies everywhere. We pay $8.50 for layer feed, and about $10.00 for chick feed.

i used to sell them cheaper but as i started considering the cost of feed, and lack of availability of laying hens and certain breeds, i changed my outlook on price. if people don't want to buy it, i have a list of other people that will.

Editted:::even around here if I was seriously into showing birds the range would be from $5-$50 . But Im talking bantam show)--

But at the swaps its just $5 -$10 /bird no matter what the pedigree $15/bird but you may go home with it

I dont know if anyone makes any $$$$$$

But to breed a bunch of one breed and pick the best for yourself and get rid of the rest at the market is good for most

Here, with our top show birds, we cant sell them for more than $10 because no one really shows that much, they just want a neat bird to look and and to lay eggs. If you go to shows, you rarely see a nice show bird for more than $50. We sell hens for $10 each, the roosters either get culled or we send them to a guy that buys anything, he is I guess what you'd a trader.
