How much does it cost??? ROFLOL

*sigh* All great posts!! Loved them all.....I am moving from a 2700 sq foot home, on 1/3 acre with a huge custom built pool in the middle of suburbia.....to a 10.5 acre ranch with an older 1600 square foot home and I couldn't be happier, for ALOT of reasons. Chickens, not being the least of them! I love my girls!

Oh and meal worms are easy...buy a few hundred or thousand....put them in a rubbermaid bin with bran..I add apple slices or cactus and replace it when it's gone. Dont feed all the big worms to your girls, they turn into pupa that emerge as beetles, the beetles lay hundreds of eggs, the eggs become worms and the whole process starts over....easy peasy.

Love you guys!!

Congrats on the new home and chicks.

We pay about £5.50 for our feed which works out at about $8.00 for our feed, which for the UK is very good and thats from a Farm Supplies place.

How did you get your brooder boxes fro free? Would love to get some chicks but recently lost my job, so if there is a free way then im in

Now I wonder if there isn't a cheaper place to get feed than IFA. It's about the middle of the prices being mentioned, but still. I'm worried about the feed costs when these babies get grown. Since we're in suburbia, they don't get to forage much.

I just asked for the box and they gave it to me. The one I got wasw used for grapefruit, but they had them for potatoes, lettuce, watermelons, pumpkins....all kinds of stuff...
