How much does your chicks cost at the feed store or TSC

At my feed store I pay $3.54 assortment bantam St. Run. $1.75 for Cornish X rock St. Run. $2.00 for RIR St. Run

Depends on the feedstore. Two get theirs from Ideal--one charges only about $2 each, the other one charges about $4 each. The third one gets theirs from Privett and charges $4 each. I charge $2 each for my own, except for the BBS Orpingtons and the Delawares. Those are $5 each, but you can't get these in the feedstore (yes, Ideal sells Delawares, but not this quality).

Well it seems to me that I need to open up a chick store and go with the highest price listed.

Instead of purchasing day old chicks, I will just separate mine, hatch out my own chicks (since I am only losing about 2 eggs a batch) and sell them. By the way it sounds, I would almost make a killing.

I paid $3.50 for buff orp pullets in my local feed store. But we live a in very rural town in utah and I'm sure maybe it costs more to ship, but I don't know.......cause now i'm thinking I paid alot! Last year I paid $2.00 for barred rock pullets.

I have been staying away from TSC since I am pretty sure they now got their chicks in. I do need to go in the next couple of days and hoping I don't get sucked into "needing" more chicks. But I will check on the prices.

wow i guess the prices are going up will it ever stop or drop or just keep going up and the idea about opening and selling your own chicks is a good thing i sell my own chicks at 5 bucks a piece it is a good way to get extra income
