If the birds are not free range and eat only layer feed how much feed will be consumed

Since I do feed them and have for years, I'd compute it right at 3 pounds each in the winter and around 2 1/2 pounds in the summer. Any scraps or ranging can reduce this significantly. Some pellets are also far more concentrated than other pellets. They aren't all created equal.

This difficult to estimate with exact precision. But 2 and a half to 4 pounds would be the parameters.

How much feed does a production red consume per week?

400

What type of red do these look like?

I have never weighted it out. But one large bag of feed last me about 3 weeks.. My 4 RI Reds are 2 years old.. I do give them table food about 3 times a week when I clean out the veggie and fruit drawers.. or we have left overs.. They love fried chicken legs. LOL

The rule of thumb is 1/4 pound a day for light weight breeds and just under 1/3 pound for heavy weight breeds. Mine free range, plus are given other foods, so don't eat nearly that much.

It's always good to have an estimate of how much they eat, for planning. If you're going through more feed than that, it's always good to look for a scavenger problem. Sometimes there's more waste, due to the design or placement of some feeders, too.

They look to be typical hatchery stock RIR, which is to say, strongly tilted toward the production red. However, they do look good and look healthy and well cared for. They'll lay and lay well. That's what they were bred to do. Although, the one with his head up appears to be a cockerel.

So I'm looking at a 1/4 lb day with production reds?
