How much feed for two peafowl?

Casportpony,,please re-read my post #15 above,my layer crumbles protein level is at 18%,not 22%. Total feed consumption per day is based on weights at present and past recorded amounts per day average.I'm going to replace 25% of their current 18% layer crumbles with 2oz(25%) of mealworms thus giving them a daily total consumption protein level of 25.75%. I've read diffrent protein levels for mealworms, some suggest right at or slightly higher than 50%.Most are in the 48-49% range but still significantly more than 18%. Since heat and time affects mealworm growth I will wait until March at the soonest to begin growing them because they will be outside in the garage.
Trefoil,,I think I'll only get one 50lb bag of Kelp,,and only add 2 large tablespoons per day to feed for them.I'm still undecided as to what hens and the number will be with my Charcoal male this spring. He will be three this summer so I know he can easily handle 5 hens.I'm leaning towards my silver pieds and dark pieds, none with black shoulder tho.I do have 3 IB hens split to Charcoal he will be with. All of the hens he was with last summer was 2 year olds.

FBC, I know you are feeding 18%, not 22%, and I understand that what you are trying to do, which sounds like a valid plan, I'm just trying to figure out the protein levels that the feed store chicks got when they were being fed. I have no idea how much of he crumble they actually ate, but I do know often it seemed like they would only eat the worms. The worms they were getting weigh about 1 gram each (King meal worms) and each chick probably got around 20-50 worms a day once they were older.

FBC, you seem to be good at figuring out the feed % thing, so what would the daily protein percentage be if a peachick was eating two ounces of worms and two ounces of 22% crumble a day?

Seriously, my brain has a hard time with this stuff and I have a hard time trying to say what I mean.

If your feeding 1/2 mealworms with a protein level of 48% and 1/2 crumbles at 22% protein per day, total intake being 4oz,total protein intake level per day would equal.35% protein.
Thank you! I guess I need to learn how to write better, lol. That's exactly what I was looking for! Now I have to find a way to tell the feed store owner that feeding worms might have contributed to his slipped tendon issues. Because from everything I have read, a 35% protein level could cause the problem.

This is one of their chicks.

Pretty chick!
That was weird... I saw your post before your edit, and you're right, he probably won't listen, but maybe his employee will. One thing I don't want to do is tell him how to get his hens to lay better. Less chicks = less trauma for me when I go there. The year before they lost 50% of their peachicks to a URI.
