How much floor space?

Recommendations for runs are anywhere between 15 - 125 sq ft per duck. Quality of life would be quite poor at the lower end. Do as much space as you can.
However, if they are free ranging often, the run can be smaller than if you were not free ranging. My Ducks don’t have a Run. They have a 6’ high fenced in yard with a lot of yard furniture, children’s playhouses, slides, bushes, etc., to hide under for hawk protection. They have about 3000 square feet for 20 ducks so they are quite happy.
As far as cold temperatures, if your coop is full of deep dry bedding and properly ventilated , ( at least one square foot per bird of window space that is covered with hardware cloth and is high up on the coop walls,
And no drafts, they will do fine down to zero Fahrenheit, or even less I have heard of people with ducks in colder climates and they still don’t use a heater.
In the winter, the run should also be wrapped to prevent wind whipping through it, but must also be ventilated( open up high , covered down low)
