How much food do 5 hens need?

A lot of my friends use oyster shells (the ones we don't legally have to leave on the beach) ground down for their chickens

I have 6 pullets and I have a feeder in my hen house and instead of buying oyster shells I keep my egg shells dry them out and crush them up and mix with my laying mesh. Also I give them about a cup of scratch a day usually in the morning and I throw it around in their run so they will have something to "snack" on all day long.
