How much food how often for seven chicks that are almost a month old.

So I've had these chicks for almost a month now and they were day olds when I bought them. I've read in places that they regulate how much feed they eat so it doesn't matter how much I put in there. Then tonight my parents are saying that they don't and will eat as much as I give them. Is this true? If so how much feed should I be giving seven chicks that are almost a month old?

I have 5 about the same age and I keep their feeder filled at all times and I make sure they always have water. They seem to be thriving and they don't constantly eat, only when they are hungry. I would suggest you just keep their food accessible...they will know when to stop

All they will eat all of the time and plenty of clean water.

i always give my chicks lots if food you cant really tell how much to feed them better to be safe then sorry
