How much food?

About how many pounds of food would 25 chicks go through in 2 weeks time? Just a guesstimate would b fine, just trying to figure what all I need to b fully prepared! I'm one of those aggravating newbies.

I would just buy a 50# bag to start, and see how long it lasts.......I think it would last around three weeks.....Guessing though....

I got 32 buff orps on April 4th from McMurray and they ate a 50# bag of chick starter the first month. I bought another 50# bag last Friday and it looks like it might last maybe two weeks. I can see as they are getting bigger they are consuming more feed. I'm not sure if 50#'s a week will be enough in another month, I guess I'll find out in time. I might add that the joy I'm getting out of them seems well worth it and I won't see any eggs for a good while yet.

There is no way on God's green earth I'd buy less than a 50# bag when raising chicks. The costs are horribly high as it is. Buying small bags is futile.
