How Much for Duck Eggs *** Another Question****

I've never eaten a duck egg. What do they taste like? Anything like a chicken egg?

In all honesty, I just ate my first duck egg a week ago. How am I supposed to make my kids eat them or sell them without trying them myself, you know. As for what I experianced when eating mine..... Duck eggs are a little richer, the yoke is a little thicker then chicken egg, and in all honesty I liked it, and did not notice to much of a difference. Even my DD & DS had me make them each one... they really liked them too... and said they didnt taste much of a difference either. Try one if you get the chance... I will defenitely be cooking with them if I have any left over for the holidays!!!!! And would defenitely eat them again too!!!

Is balut what I think it is?

The answer to your question is yes as for the almost formed part... as for cooking... don't know, don't want to know ewwwwwww

Well, I talked to the lady that runs the farmers market today.... She informed me that there are no other individuals selling duck eggs.... So, new question.... does this make my price go up???? Right now I have them marked at 1.50 for 2 or 9.00 for a dozen. Which breaks down to .75 cents each.... Any inputs?????

If there are no other suppliers in your area, yes, it does raise the price, as long as there is a demand for them. If there is no demand, of course then that's why there are no suppliers. Of course, for the adventuresome eater, or someone who needs duck eggs for cooking, you can actually create a supply. I think by selling them in smaller numbers, you're doing yourself a favor in starting out. So good luck! Tell us how it goes.

I realize that this post is about 10 years old, but if you contact local upper-scale restaurants within 30 miles you will find that you will be able to sell the duck eggs for a dollar each
