How much have eggs sold for?

I have never bought hatching eggs. I was looking and reading about some incredible auctions where eggs went for lots and lots of money! It made me think how much have the chicken addicts on BYC paid for eggs? Please post and tell me the highest amount you paid for eggs. You can even post and tell about auctions you saw or heard of where eggs went for a lot of money.

I am just wondering because i am going to buy some eggs soon.

Well sheesh, the title says SOLD but now you're asking how much we PAID for them? That's two different things

I bought a dozen hatching eggs for $170 once. Got two cockerels from it, and wasn't disappointed at all.


The most I sold was 6 eggs for $65. I'm sure that will change in a couple months though.

Chocolate pekins are on Ebay at the moment for £60 + I,ve seen the chocolate oringtons go for £150 for 6 but that was a while ago. A friend of mine sold Chocolate leghorns for £75+ just before christmas.
It seems anything Chocolate coloured goes for a high price. Having said that the birds go for 10x the price of the eggs so it could be a worthwhile gamble

Oh im sorry it says 2 different things! Wow! I just was looking at the auction on here for lavendar ameraucanas and its going for 220$ dollars with an hour left! Illia what was the breed you paid 170$ for? I am not trying to be nosy! Just wondering.

Tolbunt Polish. I got 12 eggs, 6 were fertile (a really good percent, actually, as Tolbunts are usually inbred, infertile, and not the strongest) but sadly it went down to 4 in lockdown, then 2 hatched. But, I'm keeping and using both my boys
