Geez $4 is cheap! I was just looking around here the other day and they were at $7 a pound for the home grown organic turkeys!
Maybe some of the southners are just crazy

That is what I thought anyways!!

AS far as weighing.... maybe it is because I spend too much time with mine but I just take a smal net weigh them down and pick them up by their two feet and get on the scale! I haven;t had any problems yet!

I just saw someone advertising them on craiglist for $8 a pound here locally! Crazy!

I just estimated my costs for this year including poults, feed, transportation, overhead, supplies, recovery of set-up costs over 10 years, etc, and estimated weights of birds. My cost was about $3.50/lb (depending on what the final weights actually are).

In Rochester (southern Minn), bourbon reds sell for $6.50/lb.
