How much light do babies need?

They will get enough light from the brooder lamp. If 250 is too hot ( like it is inside our house) you can downsize to 100 or even 60 watts. Remember the brooder light is on 24/7 so they do get light from it.
 
Oh! Okay, that makes sense. I think I'll pick up a couple of lower-wattage lamps tomorrow too. Just in case. The whole area is kinda big, but we've sectioned it off for the babies thinking we could enlarge their play space if needed. There's a fair amount of air space though and, of course, the garage door opens and may cool things down now and then. It's protected from drafts though, so I think that's okay.
