    I think chickens need about 8 hours of light for laying.

    They need at least 14 hours of daylight for the most production.

    they need aprox 14 to 16 hrs in a situation at the moment getting 6 point of lay birds just before xmas and need some way of produce light for these birds down the alotment hopefully by battery or solar can you get time clocks that will work on 12v car battery or down to solar ?????????????
