how much liquid iron should i put into my chickens waterers?

I think they are like 5 gallon waterers and my mom is wanting to put iron in the water for them due to the mites and she wants them to build back up their strength and the iron doesn't tell you how much you are suppose to put in their water and i cant find anything online that tells me how much

I always hear that when you supplement (with say something like Poly Vi Sol) to do so without the iron. So I am assuming that an iron supplement is not good for them.
 
To build their strength back up, give then scrambled eggs with buttermilk mixed in their feed for a few days. You can add a few drops of poultry nutri drench to the mixture as well.
