My silkie hen has been sitting on my fertilized eggs for.....today is day 21. Set under her on the 5th. I have checked them a few times, candeled them, they look like day 18 two days ago. Movement in the egg. Today is day 21, no pipping yet, candeled a couple, slow movement. Hen is still sitting on them. Is less movement mean they are getting ready to pip? What should I expect? The egg is full with ano air sac on one end. I believe I see hair on ones leg. How much longer and do I need to do anything else. This is out first hatch.

21 days is just a guide so I would not be too worried. Some can be early and some can be late. I would let your hen be and leave the eggs alone and let nature takes it course. The chicks should be in position for hatch so not touching them will be best for them.

Wishing you and your hen the very best of luck, I hope you have some chicks soon :D

They are hatching, we'll one. It is pipping and chirping this morning

:woot

Any more action yet? :pop

Yes, we have 3 white babies so far, 1 pipping now. 4 left to hatch... the first baby we video taped her hatching.. my daughter helped her out of the egg. It was a good birth. She is fluffy and going to my daughter this morning. She cut school just to watch her babies hatch

Not sure how to post pics. But I've got 7, one more to hatch. Very unusual colors
