How much room does a chicken need

Im think about redoing my run and coop.Wanted to how much room do allow pre chicken? The size of the chickens are like Rhode Island Reds or something in that area.

General rule of thumb:

4 square feet per bird in the coop

10 square feet per bird in the run

These measurements can be adjusted depending on how much time your birds stay in the coop...warmer weather climates they would tend to be outdoors more....only in there run or free ranged, too...individual temperament, etc. But, you will seldom go wrong with the general rule of thumb.

THks for the info,Ill have to measure and see what i have now. I use to rise quail so time to change some things up
