for 6 hatching eggs im going to sell shipping would be like 13.30 and the eggs would come from crested polish of all types but the eggs would be pure bred but the eggs would be mixxed probly of all kinds of polish

Well. I sell pure bred pet quality black silkies for 50 cents an egg. As for colors. If they are mixed, they might be considered mixed still in a way because the colors won't breed true.

Well. It depends on the breed, how well their parents do in shows, and the quality of bird really. If you are selling show quality, they can't be mixed colors as to show them, you need to have the correct colors in each category. There are some people on the board that can tell you more about that. Chases are, if you didn't get your birds from a breeder, you won't end up with show quality or even breeder quality birds, so you couldn't rightly sell their eggs as show quality.

Hatcheries don't usually have show quality stock so you'd just be reselling pure bred pet quality eggs that may be good for 4-h type projects. A prime example is like the standard RIR. Show quality bird are a deep red with black in the tails. I have yet to see one of that quality come out of a hatchery. Thoes are usually lighter and more brown, rather than a deep cherry wood color. Also, shipped eggs are often hard to hatch if you've ever tried it. Postal services are rough on eggs, especially if they have to travel very far.

Someone go correct me if I am wrong though about hatcheries though.

You are correct about hatcheries. They breed birds who lay eggs for people who want birds that lay alot of eggs. The standard of the breed is secondary in most hatchery stock. And you are right on the money about the RIRs. I have one of the deep cherry mahogany types I hatched from a breeder's stock and she is absolutely different from my hatchery RIR girls. Night and day difference, I'd say. Shirley, I really dont know what you should charge for your eggs, sorry.
