I think the rule of thumb I've read and use is a palm full for each bird. If that makes sense. Someone else might chime in differently

Way too much IMO. For 13 birds I think 1 palmful a day in total is more than enough.

I hand out maybe 2-3 Tbsp total for 10-12 hens, to encourage them to return to the run when called.
