how much space????

ok i am wondering how much space each chicken needs i would like to have around 15 birds in a coop and run and need to know how big the coop needs to be i plan on making a huge run and letting them run around in that most of the time

The standard answer on here for large fowl is 3 to 4 sq ft in the coop and 10 sq ft in the run per chicken. But there are several factors to consider, especially climate, and whether they will be "snowed in" part of the time. Here is a very good writeup on space: (post #8)

snow isnt an issue heat is i dont want them to over heat in a crouded coop

what they said, but can you let us know:

will the run and coop be completely (as possible) secure so that they can use either all the time?

Will the coop and run require a person to open the door to let them out every day and make them secure at night?

i think that i would want it to be open access so they could roost where ever they want even if its hot at night they will be able to have their own space

Ok, then you can get away with a little more run and a little less coop if you need to- make it 14 square feet per standard bird no less then 3 inside and the rest outside
