My chicks are about 10 days old and are eating like crazy. I keep their feeder replenished all the time so they always have access to their food. My six chicks eat over a quart of starter mix and baby grit a day. Is this ok??

I give mine as much as they will eat. I haven't had a fat chick yet!

Chicks go through a lot of feed because they are growing like crazy and they need it. I too keep food avail. at all times for them. What surprises me though is how much my little bantams will eat!! Our little black one is Such a character and stands on the top of the little feeder with her head stretched down into the feed. Then she flies off the feeder but then hops right back on. They are soo cute these little chicks, aren't they?!! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

My little black silkie does the same thing and it is so itty bitty. It's the size of a golf ball with wings.

SO SO CUTE!!!! They are a week old today.
