how much water do these babies drink?

I have six babies and a one quart waterer. It was full last night and this morning there was still more than half in it. But all of a sudden my daughter told me that they were all out of water. It was only about 9:00 in the morning. Where did all the water go?
How long should a one quart container of water last six chickens?

It sounds like they may have spilled it. That can happen easily with the mason jar waterers if they are a little off level.

A quart at this age should last a couple of days - but I changed mine daily because they walk in it, kick shavings etc.

My one week old birds are pro's at filling it with shavings or tipping it over. If it is near the heat lamp then the shavings dry quickly again. Also being near the heat lamp can cause the water to evaporate quickly.

I sometime end up changing the pint waterer twice a day, because for one reason or another they no longer have water available.
