...do ducks need to bath/swim in? Will a large oil drain pan, or large (but short) plastic storage tub work? Or do they pretty much need a kiddie pool. It would be for 2 ducks.

They can wet their feet in an oil drain pan.... flap around abit in a plastic container... and swim in a kiddie pool. They dont need to be able to swim every day- but they sure do love to play in the water. If water usage is a concern - you could give them a large tub for drinking daily- and fill qa kiddie pool on the weekends when you are home to enjoy watching them splash around.
