I have a homemade bater. The eggs are in a dish about 1 1/2 inches deep. I have two eggs. Will they stay in the dish which is about 5x 7 inches or will they climb out? Also the eggs are resting in shredded paper. Should I remove it or let them hatch in it? Its holding my eggs ag an angle for hatch...

They will climb over. My last hatch the chicks were able to get over a 2 1/2 inch border. As far as the shredded paper, replace it with paper towels. The paper will stick to the wet birds and could hurt or kill them. Some people let them hatch on shelving pads or just wire mesh. Mine have hatched on wire and paper towels. Paper towels makes clean up much easier.[IMG]
