How much would you spend on a duck?

You can't set a dollar amount. Every situation and person is different. How much I would spend isn't what you would spend. If you keep them as livestock your view is different than keeping as pets. The only thing I can say is, spend what you feel is right. But I wouldn't spend more on an animal than you can comfortably afford. Vet bills should not interfere with taking care of the human side of the family.

People need to know there are other options than the vet and not to he ashamed of it. whether someone has money or is poor, there is always common sense.

I love ducks, and cats,, and dogs. But ive had to make the ultimate choice before and stand behind it.

I recently spend 900$ at an emergency vet when my cat was sick, He is 2 years old and was a gift to my girlfriend. He needed saving.
My grandmothers mutt dog was 13 years old and was sick. she is on a fixed incolme and the dog was too old. he got saved by Dr Winchester 12 gauge.

It was dignified. i even told the dog i loved him and even buried him. He didnt see it coming and didnt feel a thing

Update on bumblefoot duckie.

I did get my sweet girl to a vet more specialized in avian care. She is having surgery this afternoon. Apparently, even though we caught the bumblefoot early, and went through a month of antibiotics, the infection has spread to her leg, and possibly some of her bone.

So don’t mess with bumblefoot.

The treatment is expensive, but I do not have regrets, I’m relieved to say. I guess because I’ll never worry and wonder if I didn’t do enough for her.

Pray for my sweet girl — I really want her to get better.

So don’t mess with bumblefoot.
