How often are chickens "just pets"?

Oh my gosh..all 30 of mine are pets. They are spoiled rotten and get lots of attention.

I have spent 2 sleepless night nursing a sick girl back to health and will continue to do so until she is all better.

I love my chickens and will not hide it for a second.

All of my chickens are pets and they all have names. We know all of their likes and dislikes and all of their little personalities.

We love them!

I could take those eggs off your hands... Yum!

haha! we just have issues with it. i mean, if it was kept warm it would turn into our duckies babies! some people say they feed their eggs back to their ducks, i just can't do that! that's their baby! we might be hatching some though!!

same here! all my ducks have names and personalities. i know toby is the goofball, chubby is the tough duck, lucy (who is a boy sadly) is the wanna be duck, and slushie is the cute little girl that all the boys just love! toby also has a very limited attention span...i could be herding him into his pen and he will stop and stand there and be like "LOOK! A CLOUD!!!" and i will get right behind him before he notices me then he freaks like "HOW DID YOU GET SO CLOSE?!?!?!" he's funny. they all are. i just love them.

also, chubby and slushie HATE to be apart, but its cute to watch them get reunited.

This pet owner has hundreds of pets, I met one, Sophie, who is a silkie with a barrett in her poof and a diaper, and is very content to be carried around all the time and be a house pet. (sorry zoo, the secret's out)

All of mine are pets. More coming and they will be pets too. I thought I was the only one in the world until I found this "chicken channel". I'm so glad there are so many. All of my friends, except one, think I'm crazy for seeing the beauty, humor, etc. of chickens as pets. OMG they are such wonderful creatures. Most of my girls love to be held and I oblige them as much as possible.
