How often do you trim your hens' nails?

I never had to with chickens (I did it one or two times for a special needs button quail). But I will definitely do it if notice they are getting too long.

I didn't know cutting nails was normal care for chickens

I don’t know that it is normal. I had gotten a new batch that had long nails that bent their toes so I trimmed them. My others I trim every few years. I free range, but I have very marshy ground so they may not grind them down.
