How often or when do hens go broody?

My 6 girls are in their 3rd laying season and none have ever gone broody. I have 4 Black Sex Link and 2 Buff Orpington. For me, it's a good thing, we have no roo and don't want to mess with breaking them.

I got 5 Wyandottes, est 13 months & laying since Dec 2016....Since March I've had 1 go broody 2x, another once and now on the 3rd

I can't have Roos therefore this is very frustrating for us (them & me). Removing from the nest box through the day got tiring & blocking/opening the nest box got tiring, broke down & ordered a wire cage. Works! Keep it in the Run/Coop with the rest but still hate seeing them pace & separtated. Don't mind not getting eggs as they're Pets with Benefits but they start loosing weight so out comes the cage.

Someone told me give the broody eggs to sit on but what to do with all the chicks

What if they keep going broody

Maybe time to think about finding them homes that need/want broodies

Unfortunately for me the breeds I LOVE are "variable" to going broody

Any suggestions would be appreciated, was thinking of Ameraucanas or EEs?
