Hi! So I got these chicks on September 15 and I absolutely love them! I got 2 Gold Laced Wyandottes, 1 Buff Orpington, and 1 Americana chick! I am struggling to see how old they are with pictures online so I was wondering if you guys may know! I have some pictures I took of them today!

This is Lucy! She is one of our gold laced wyandottes and she’s adorable! I am thinking her and her sister are about 5 weeks old but I’m not sure.

Next is Lily, Lucy’s sister! I am thinking she is 5 weeks old too!

Its definitely harder to get pics of Lily bc she is a little bit more shy but she’s so cute!

This is Sunny! She is our buff Orpington! I am thinking she is around 5 weeks too!

Finally, this is Shiloh our Americana! I named her Shiloh because she is shy, it may be bc she is older than the rest but she is definitely really smart! She is always the first into the coop at night and shows the little ones how to do it! I feel bad though because since she is a little bit older, when we got her the little ones thought she was their mom and would hide under her. Anyway…… I think she might be around 6 or 6 1/2 weeks old!

This is Peaches. She is the one who died.
I have a thread here about her a bit and a compilation of other Buff Orps that are and have been loved by other BYC users.

big, nearly red wattles on the two wyandottes......... they could be boys.

They are all so pretty!!! I am so sorry for your loss!!!! It’s definitely hard to loose a bird because you spend so much time with them and bond with them.
I am starting to worry that Lucy and Lily are actually roosters now😭😭
We got them from a place called Palmers Feed and Seed and they were sold as girls and in the girl section, there was a section for boy chicks too. The neighborhood I live in isn’t supposed to have chickens but we snuck them in bc they were supposed to be hens.
If some of them are roosters we will have to give them away and I love them and would be so devastated
We hatched quail and chickens in 2022 and we had a rooster and a hen for the chickens. His name was Hannah bc we thought at first he was a girl but we noticed even when he was a few days old he had A LOT of wing feathers. He soon got a dark comb and wattle when he was younger than these ones, then even when he was younger that what these ones are now he started to crow.
None of our chicks now have any rooster behavior and they never try to crow or anything.
They love to run around their cage playing with eachother but nothing else.
I am praying none of them are boys🙏

This was Hannah at 5 weeks old. I am still sad that we had to give them away (Riley and Hannah) but they became show chickens 🐓
