How old are roosters when they begin to crow?

I heard some very funny noises coming from the chicken run this morning and wondered if one of the roosters might be trying to learn to crow. They are 8 and 1/2 week old buff orpingtons.

I have 7 EE cockerels and the first one crowed at about 5 weeks now they are 8 weeks old and they all are crowing.

I had a Silver Spangled Hamburg that started to crow at 5 wks of age. Right now I have a 9 wk old BO that started to crow this week. It sounds as if he is laughing at something...."ha...ha...ha...harrrrr". I think he's missing a syllable to it but he's working on it. It makes me laugh

just to hear him practicing.

Our araucana really started crowing at 4 months (loud enough for neighbors to hear).

my little BOs are almost 5 weeks so its not too long before they start crowing
