I have one White Leghorn, and one Silver Laced Wyandotte, both confirmed as hens. I would like to know when these girls will start laying eggs also. Combs and waddles are growing pretty fast also.
Thanks!!!

I have 4 leghorns right now, on started just shy of 18 weeks and one a week later. the other 2 haven't started yet and they'll be 21 weeks tomorrow. The slw's I used to have didn't start til 22-23 weeks so I'd say you have a while to go yet.

Okay thank you^^^^
C'mon guys I thought this was BYC I need more opinions

My guess is about fourteen to fifteen weeks. The Leghorn's comb and wattles are not to developed yet.

Exactly what I was going to say about the leghorn, her comb looks like a 12 week old or so, once her comb has fully grown, and flopped over, expect an egg very soon after that. So hard to have that patience for the first egg, I know! ;)
