How old are your chickens?

How old are every ones chickens? I have 4 that are 9 months, and 6 that are 2 months.

I have 2 That are 2 years old, 4 that are one year old, 4 that are 8 months, and 6 that are 5 weeks old

Do your 2 year olds still lay eggs?

Yep! They've slowed just a tiny, tiny bit, but they are still laying regularly. Hens can lay reliably for up to 5 years, after that they generally still lay, but they slow down quite a bit

Wow! I thought they stopped after 3 years.

Nope, it starts to slow at 3 but from what I've read, it's around 5 that it really slows down

Our relatives chickens Stopped laying for a long time at 1 year.

Some chickens take a long time to molt, stress also really messes with their laying

Yeah, I assume that's what it was.

It's really crazy how many people in here don't know that chickens molt, or that chicks lose their feathers before growing adult feathers
