How old are your chickens?

How old are every ones chickens? I have 4 that are 9 months, and 6 that are 2 months.

Are you a new chicken parent?
Or have you had others in the past?


I ask because you have mentioned you have a ton of experience of sexing chicks...and i am curious.

The hybrid breeds of chickens do not lay long..
They are "made" to lay a lot in the beginning and that is it.

Yea..it's pretty interesting.
I used to think that all chicken were basically the same.

There are so many different breeds and they "do" so many different things.

Some breeds will lay daily and some only lay twice a week.
The ones that lay pretty much daily are the hybrids that don't lay for YEARS.

There is so many things to learn about chickens....just keep an open mind while reading/researching.

I only have one hybrid (a red sex link) so I was going by my other hens with the length of laying

Well i have one she is 11 years old ,one she is 8 years old, 3 they are 8 years old, 1 she is 7 years old, 2 they are 6 years old, 1 she is 5 years old, the rest are from 4 years old to 2 months old
