How old are your chicks and what breed are they? Do they have names?

I have 12. Mixed group and mixed ages. I named them to commemorate the final season of LOST...all but one

2 Silver Lace Wyandottes: Kate and Eloise
2 Black Australorps: Rose and Ana Lucia
2 Partridge Rocks: Penny and Charlotte

These are all 5 1/2 weeks old.

3 Buff Orpingtons: Juliet, Claire and Sun
3 Brown Leghorns: Libby, Ilana and lastly...Idgie

These are all 2 1/2 weeks old.


Eloise may have to be changed to either Lock or Ben as she is looking more and more like a Roo all the time....and I'm not all that certain about Kate either.

We have named about half of our 16 chicks. We thought we had one rooster and my son (4) named him Lasso the Cow, then just Cow (Jack wants a cow!) Then he named him Cocka doodle do. Now we have 2 roosters............. so we named one Doodle and one Do. Of course my daughter (6) asked why we didn't name him Cock. I guess if we end up with a third one.......................

I name all of them, and when we've had roosters they find new homes, and one of these days one might be dinner. But I still name them, they are their own little "people" too for lack of a better term, and I think they all need names. Currently we have 5 hens, and 31 eggs in the bator.

2 RIR - Beauty and Fifi
3 EEs - Dragon (has a vibrant red-orange chest), Falco and Hawkins (they have gold eyes and just remind me of birds of prey)

The roos that we let go...
Biddy and Flower (we obviously didn't know they were roos from the get go)
Red (the RIR, I know real orginal)
Weeds - he was my favorite, the most gentle soul, ever followed me all over the yard when I was working. So named because as a chick he preferred to dig at and eat my weeds over bugs and treats I'd find.

We're just gonna call them by their nick names, though- Sam 'n Ella

Totally off subject but I'm sad about it coming to an end too....and this week blew my mind. Sorry everyone for the off-subject chatter.

Mine only seem to get weird names if something happens and it fits them.

I have one that I call "Fence" coz she got stuck on a fence and tore a big rip in her skin!!!!
There's one called "Dot" coz she was the only barred girl in with a bunch of black so she had a white dot on her head as a chick easy to ID in the brooder.
I have a cockerel named "Jailbird" coz he's barred
I have a cockerel named "Pac Man" coz he looked like one when he hatched, but now he's got almost NO body feathers so he looks really freaky!!!
I have a little white pullet that I call "Uno Daughter" coz that's what she is -- her dad is a white EE named Uno.
My rooster is named "Red" or sometimes just Rooster Boy, he's RIR and my only pure red bird.
There's an adult who got dubbed "Houdini" as a chick because of her frequent escapes.

I'm REALLY bad at coming up with names "for no reason" so most of the chicks don't have names until they earn one.
